Welcome! I am glad you are here and curious about art therapy services . Here is a bit more about what I bring into sessions. I have my MS in Art Education from Towson University and my MA in Art Therapy with a Specialization in Counseling from Seton Hill University.
I am a Provisionally Registered Art Therapist (MA ATR-P) and receive supervision from a MA ATR-BC who is also an LPC. One day I hope to take the board exam and be licensed in the great state of Michigan - Please take advantage of my reduced rate as I work towards my credentials.
I subscribe to Positive Psychology, Humanistic Art Therapy, and process over product. I am solution focused or strength based in my approaches. I toggle between structure and non structure, but mostly I believe I am here to hold a special space for you to explore and experience whatever you need to creatively. I try to emphasize the materials as I follow your lead through it. I work from a systems perspective and enjoy assisting those who also support their circle.
I am very excited to offer virtual art therapy- it is something that I dreamed for myself many moons ago, and I am excited to be making it into a reality and share it with you.
As far as where I get my kicks- I read classical literary novels. I've been stretching and doing yoga at home or in the studio for many years. I studied glass in art school and like anything sentimental and recycled. My husband and I go tent camping and have traveled to most places we'd like to visit around the beautiful world. When I am down and dark from something that happened or hormone flux- I usually journal to empty it out and do my best to get outside. I enjoy my life energy flow when facilitating the art making of others- I love doing it.
Looking forward to meeting you and making art with you =)
The art work on this site is my own.
